What Professional Hockey Teams are in the Raleigh area?
International hockey fans in the Raleigh area have the unique opportunity of watching two award-winning professional teams, the Carolina Hurricanes and the Trailblazers.
The Hurricanes are a National Hockey League (NHL) team, known for their Stanley Cup victory in the 2005-2006 season.
The Trailblazers are a North Carolina Womens Hockey Association team, known for their USA Hockey Women's B team Southeast Regional title in 2003 and their C team Southeast Regional second place title in 2009.

Carolina Hurricanes Pro Hockey
The Carolina Hurricanes play in the Southeast Division of the Eastern NHL Conference.
The Raleigh RBC Center is home to the Hurricanes.
The current Hurricanes season lasts from October 2010 through April 2011. Tickets can be purchased for individual games, or as a season or half-season package.
The Hurricanes' Regular Seasons usually have roughly 40-45 home games and 40-45 away games for a total of between 80 and 90 games. The 2010-2011 Regular Season has 42 home games and 41 away games.

Stormy the "ice hog" and the Storm Squad cheer leaders entertain fans with on and off-ice contests, trivia, games, and more.
Stormy and the Storm Squad are available to attend events for charity, companies, schools, birthdays, and much more.

The Hurricanes host several theme and discount nights, including Canes College nights, teacher discount night, military appreciation program, family nights, Harris Teeter nights, and "99.9 The Fan" ticket nights.
Trailblazers Womens Hockey
The North Carolina Trailblazers Womens Hockey Association allows women to participate in either the "Senior C Level" team or one of the recreational teams. The association was founded in 1995 for recreational ice hockey participation. Since then, the Trailblazers have grown in size and in success.
Competitive Trailblazer teams compete in the Southeast Regional Division of the Mid-Atlantic Women's Hockey League. Non-competitive teams compete locally against other recreational teams and leagues. The Trailblazers encourage new women (ages 14 and up) to join practices, which run from September through March.

For new members, practice fees may include:
- Full Season (11 practices): $220
- Pay by practice: $25
- USA Hockey membership: $30
- Carolina Amateur Hockey Association membership: $4
