Lowe's Home Improvement Expands Military Discount Program

Lowe's has long offered a 10 percent military discount on Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Veterans Day weekends.  They've just announced an expansion of that discount - the military discount will now be available on a daily basis.

The 10% Military Discount is widely available - here's the details!

- Customers must have a valid, government-issued military ID card.

- Available to all active duty, reserve, retired, or disabled military personnel.

- Available on in-stock or special-order purchases of up to $5,000.

- Not valid at Lowes.com, on previous sales, or on purchases of services or gift cards.

Lowe's was originally founded after World War II by two war veterans, and have long held programs that recognize the military on some level.

Lowe's has many great product lines, including ENERGY STAR lighting, Water Sense plumbing fixtures, green flooring, and much more.

What is Icynene?

Raleigh custom home builder Stanton Homes announces a partnership with Sears Holdings, with joint discounts on new homes for Veteran and Military homebuyers.

The "Stanton Homes for Heroes" program offers a three percent discount to all Veteran or military homebuyers on the purchase of a new home - in addition to the deep value in every Stanton Home. 

The Sears Commercial offer includes additional discounts on appliances and select home furnishings in any Stanton Home to be built for a Veteran or military homebuyer in this program. 

"The additional Sears Commercial discount allows Veteran and Military homebuyers to save money on their appliance package, or opt to include a more premium appliance during the appliance selection stage, and stay within their budget," said Williams. 

A standard appliance package included in a Stanton Home consists of a built-in microwave, oven/range combination, and dishwasher - all of which are now available at further discounted prices through the "Stanton Homes for Heroes" program.    

The discounts available from Sears Holdings for Veteran and Military homebuyers purchasing a home through Stanton Homes also apply to select additional home-based purchases the families may need, including items such as:

*Additional discounts are also available on the purchase of a new Stanton Home, with a $2000 closing cost credit through one of the builder's preferred lenders.

Real Estate Discounts - If you've been reassigned anywhere in North Carolina, or if you're a veteran or retired military and moving to North Carolina, check out these different sites that offer military discounts on relocation, rentals, or real estate. 

Military.com - Can search by state using the key words "relocation", "real estate", or "homes" to find various North Carolina or national companies offering incentives.   Free sign up to see full details of discounts.  Check with each company - some promotions are for active duty only, some are for veterans, some include retired military and National Guard or Reserves. 

ArmyTimes.com - A bit tougher to search on this site.  But you can also search the Army Times classified section for homes for rent or for sale.  May not be discounted, but could be some information on NC real estate. 

MilitaryCoupons.com - Not much that I could find for real estate, but they do have a banking and loans category. 

MilitaryNow.com - There's a lot of information here on housing discounts.  Searches are fairly easy, with subcategories like Housing and Relocation, Homes, Moving, and Storage.  

MilitaryAvenue.com - Military Avenue offers discount information sorted by Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corp, or Coast Guard base.  So find the base that's closest to your destination in NC, and use that to search for local discounts.  MilitaryAvenue.com has a pretty comprehensive list, including apartments and rentals, real estate, and relocation.  There's even a large list of Fayetteville area real estate agents.  It may take a minute or two to find the incentive for each - click through for more information, then click on the "military reward" link. 

Stanton Homes offers a 3% discount on any new home, for active duty and retired military and veterans.  This applies to any home.  Can be combined with other military discounts offered in partnership with the Stanton Homes for Heroes program, including discounts from Sears, Timberlake Cabinetry, and real estate agents.

There are also some special programs available for veterans and disabled soldiers and their families.  Here are a few of the housing programs available in North Carolina: 

Homes for our Troops - Builds specially-adapted homes for severely disabled soldiers and their families.  Homes have been completed in Lumberton, New Bern, Roxboro, and Fayetteville.  A home is under construction in Waxhaw, NC.  Donations of labor and materials are accepted. 

Fisher House - These homes are built on the grounds of a base or VA hospital.  There is no charge for families to stay in a Fisher House while an Armed Services member is given treatment, which can involve travel for specialized services.  There is a home at Womack Army Medical Center, Ft. Bragg, with another in planning stages.  Monetary donations are accepted, and volunteers are welcome. 

Please check with the individual companies offering discounts to find their terms and requirements.  Some offer only to active military, others may exclude National Guard and Reserves. 

Real estate agents - if you offer a discount to military personnel, I'd suggest submitting it to these sites.  They are go-to places for anyone in the military looking for a way to stretch their paycheck a little further.

Stanton Homes is pleased to announce today the debut of the "Stanton Homes for Heroes" program.  Military personnel from all branches of the United States Armed Forces will receive a three percent discount on top of the other deep value offerings in the purchase of a new home from Raleigh custom home builder Stanton Homes.

"This is our way of thanking the many military families who make their home in North Carolina, for their service to our country," said Stan Williams, CEO of Stanton Homes.  "Whether based in the area or supporting family members here while in service around the world, these people give so much for all of us. This is our way of giving back. We want to help these families in uniform live in a beautiful home."

Active or retired service members can apply the discount to any Stanton Home, whether the home is already under construction, custom designed in a local neighborhood, or build-to-suit on the buyer's lot in the Raleigh/Triangle area.

"This reduction adds up to a considerable savings," said Williams. "For example, it adds up to $7,500 on a $250,000 custom home, or $9,000 on a $300,000 custom home. That's money in your pocket to spend on other things - or put away in the bank. You can even use the savings to help with closing costs, or add additional upgrades - although you may be surprised at how many ‘extras' come standard in a Stanton Home."

This discount applies to anyone who has honorably served in the Armed Forces for one year or more, and is either in the military, a veteran, retired, or honorably discharged.  

"Whether you're serving now or fulfilled your duty half a century ago, our ‘Homes for Heroes' benefit applies to everyone who has honorably served in our country's military - regardless of when or where," said Williams.
