Celebrate Independence Day on July 3rd at Lake Benson Park!  Gates open at 5 pm, and shuttles are available for parking.

Independence Day Celebration Fireworks and Music Monday July 5th, 2010

Enjoy an old-fashioned Independence Day celebration with fireworks and other family fun Monday, July 5 at Womble Park from 5-9 p.m.

Admission is free and open to everyone.

Free entertainment includes music and inflatable slides and activities for the kids, in addition to the nightime fireworks!  Food will be available, or bring a picnic basket and lawn chairs.

  • Opening by Divine Intentions Musical Group
  • Decorated Bike & Wagon Parade - 6 p.m.
  • Music by Church Alive Band
  • Patriotic Performances by Holly Springs Community Band and the Dave Reitmeyer Trio

    • The Holly Springs Police Department will lead a "bike and wagon" parade, which will circle the baseball fields.  Kids are welcome to bring decorated bikes, or can even decorate at the park using materials provided. 

    Other old fashioned family fun will include:

    • Face Painting
    • Food Concessions

    The Annual Apex Old Fashioned 4th of July will be held in Downtown Apex on

    Saturday, July 3rd, 9am - 1pm

    Lots of free fun for the whole family, including free games, inflatables, music, and a parade.

    This is a great, family friendly event.  My kids had a ball last year.  Get there early - it will be busy! 

    Kids - Decorate your bike, wagon, scooter, or anything non-motorized and participate in Uncle Sam's Parade of Wheels. Just show up at least 15 minutes prior to start of the parade at noon at the Corner of Chatham and Salem St. across from Apex Baptist Church and get in line. Bicycle helmets are required if riding a bike.

    At 12:30, new citizens will be naturalized during a ceremony on the Capital Steps, followed by the traditional "Salute to Independence". 

    Performers include the Raleigh Concert Band, Moonlighters Orchestra, and Starcatchers vocal ensemble.

    Visitors can also purchase food or take a narrated trolley ride through the historic downtown area.  Pack a picnic, and bring lawn chairs and/or blankets.
