Even in the somewhat sultry south, outdoor ice skating CAN be a Christmas tradition!  There are three "winter" ice skating rinks available in Raleigh.  Only one has real ice, but the experience can be just as memorable no matter which ice skating rink you take your family to.

  • Open 10am - 9pm Fri-Sat, 1 to 6pm Sunday, 10am-8pm Mon-Thurs

  • Portion of the proceeds to benefit Raleigh Rescue Mission
  • Admission includes skate rental: $7 adults, $5 children 10 and under

Brier Creek Commons and Triangle Town Center - Winter Outdoor Ice Skating Rink

  • Operates at Brier Creek Commons until December 10th 2009
  • Operates at Triangle Town Center December 13 to 26th 2009
  • Open 10am - 9pm Fri-Sat, 1 to 6pm Sunday, 10am-8pm Mon-Thurs

What a nice tradition.  I used to figure skate as a kid in Minnesota.  I was a "lemon drop" and a "marshmallo in the Duluth MN Ice Folies when I was seven.  I wowed 'em!
