At 12:30, new citizens will be naturalized during a ceremony on the Capital Steps, followed by the traditional "Salute to Independence".
Performers include the Raleigh Concert Band, Moonlighters Orchestra, and Starcatchers vocal ensemble.
Visitors can also purchase food or take a narrated trolley ride through the historic downtown area. Pack a picnic, and bring lawn chairs and/or blankets.

A National Historic Landmark, the N.C. State Capitol is one of the finest and best-preserved examples of the Greek Revival style of architecture in the U.S. It features a domed rotunda and state senate and house chambers, meticulously restored to their 1840 appearance.
