365 Things to Do in Raleigh - New York Style Pizza
Randy's Pizza Has Authentic New York Style Pizza in Raleigh
The Raleigh area is known for its variety of restaurants, where you can find dishes from around the world. If you are looking for authentic New York style pizza, come out to one of 5 Randy's Pizza locations in the Research Triangle Park.

Owner Randy Smith opened the first Randy's Pizza in 1995, on Martin Luther King Parkway in Durham. Since then, he's opened four more, three in Durham and one in Morrisville.

Patrons say Randy's Pizza has the best New York Style Pizza around, with freshly shredded mozzarella, just chopped vegetables, and brick oven-baked thin crust. At Randy's, it's no surprise that the motto is "Where we think 14'' is small!" It took three plates to fit two slices of single topping pizza.
If you are coming out for lunch, Randy's fills up quickly, and can be packed tight from 11:15 until after 1:00. You may even see Randy Smith himself washing tables so they can quickly be filled by new customers.
Dine in, take out, or have Randy's delivered.

With a Combo Reward Card, visit 10 times with a minimum purchase of $6, and get the next #1, #2, or #3 combo free. Other coupons are available online.
Randy's also has a salad bar, and serves appetizers, salads, pasta, stromboli, calzones, subs, and buffalo wings. Randy's has beer on tap, including New Belgium Fat Tire, which can be purchased by the glass or pitcher.

Pizza comes by the slice or as a whole pie. You can try the Rio Ranchero, which has bacon, tomatoes, ranch dressing, mozzarella cheese, parmesan and oregano.

One of the things I missed when I moved down here from NYC was NY pizza! Luckily I've found a few good places and now I'll have to check out Randy's too!
