Having a Garage Sale? Here's How to Get the Word Out!

Busy spring cleaning?

Getting ready to move?

Raleigh Garage and Yard Sales - How to Hold a Moving SaleI don't know about you, but every time I go through the closets and garage I find all kinds of (formerly) cool things, like

  • outgrown clothes,
  • old sports equipment,
  • mismatched furniture,
  • tools that have been replaced, and
  • books (bought at other garage sales) that are ready to be passed on to a new reader.

What to do with all that stuff?  Post some signs and have a yard sale!

And I just found the neatest place to advertise my next garage sale... sure to increase my attendance, raise my profits, and get rid of more of the stuff I'm ready to part ways with.

Raleigh Garage and Yard Sales - Finding Yard Sales - Raleigh Relocation Package

TriangleGarageSales.com offers FREE postings of all kinds of garage, yard, and estate sales in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill areas.

In fact, if you like to hunt for treasures at local garage sales, I'd highly recommend checking the site out.

You can post what kinds of things you'll be selling.  Last weekend there were over 100 garage and yard sale postings!  And if you're looking for something specific, like baby furniture or yard tools, this is a great way to figure out which garage sales to hit first.

Here's an example of a garage sale posting.  You can even include your email address in case anyone wants to know  what color that living room sofa is.  You can also see the number of click throughs on your ad, and get an idea of how high your Triangle garage sale attendance might be!

So the next time you're thinking of checking out the local yard sales, or of emptying out the stuff stored in the guest bedroom, check it out or post your Raleigh garage sale.

Or get together with your neighbors and advertise a community yard sale!

Linda and Clint - This is a great site.  I did a quick check on Lexington, but couldn't find something similar.  But it might be under a different name - this one is under "Triangle" rather than "Raleigh".  And Linda - thanks!  We work hard to make our homes different...

Leesa - Seems like this would be a great site for real estate agents who help organize community yard sales!  I think this site is going to continue to grow.

We have some die-hard garage sale hunters here... they hit your house early and in droves. It's amazing how quickly your items move if you get the word out.

Charlie - thanks for stopping by!

Chuck - It seems to depend on the neighborhood and the amount of signs, but there can certainly be some huge attendance on nice mornings.  Sometimes there's a dozen cars, sometimes there's no one.  I imagine this site might have at least a little influence!

Good post Penny. I'm going to book mark this one as we are going to have to have a garage sale here soon.

Michael - Glad to help.  It's one of those things that, once you discover it, you wonder how it was you never knew about it!

My wife loves garage sales - even though i always ask her to buy me another garage because mine is full of the stuff that she buys at all those garage sales every Saturday morning.

Brian - Sounds like it's about time to hold a garage sale yourself!  :)

It is about that time of year.... Craigslist does well here in this area.  We just had a community yard sale and by 8:30 am most of the good stuff was gone at our house.  We had people scoping out our neighborhood by 7am.

Naoma - Craigslist is definitely another great idea.  I have a friend who sells all kinds of things through Craigslist!
