Then use one of these two great free 411 services!
One of the most frustrating parts of traveling or moving to a new city can be trying to find the places you need to get to. And OK, you probably won't get the BoJangles reference until you've heard a few local commercials, but after that you may want to find one of those too!
Get Where You Need to Go
Looking for a restaraunt? Thought the auto shop was just down Broad Street, but now you can't find it? Trying to get to your job interview at Cisco?
Instead of paying $1.50 (or more) every time you need to call 411 for a phone number (and some help with directions), there are two great FREE services.
1-800-GOOG-411
Call 1-800-GOOG-411, and you can get connected to any BUSINESS, absolutely free.
Works great for me, as nearly every time I'm on the road and need to find a phone number, it is for a business.
1-800-FREE-411
"Now with directions powered by Mapquest!" For this service, you can request Business, Government, Residential, or even Directions. Listen to a short advertisement. Then get exactly what you need.
The "Ask for Directions" function is really cool. Just tell the automated system where you are now (311 Main Street in Holly Springs), and where you want to go (1190 Cary Parkway in Cary, NC). Hang up, and you get full directions by text message! You can also get all the standard phone numbers.
I may be late on the bandwagon, but I just found out about these two services - and I can't believe I've been paying for 411, never again!

Cool Penny. I did not know that these services existed. I need to program these into my phone...
Yeah, they're definitely in mine now - I had no idea there was a way to get around those $1.50 charges on my phone bill every month (unfortunately, I often end up making calls for clients "on the spot").
