Millions of Americans - Millions of Stories
Tell your story -- no story or sacrifice too small.......
In 1973 a tragic fire destroyed millions of service records of our service men and women.
You may have the only existing record of their service included with your records, travel orders, separation documents and other listings.
Please share your records with us and help restore the service history of those whose records were lost - as well as share your stories in an interview.
Wartime or peacetime veterans welcome, including Merchant Marines.

I had no idea about this tragedy... we had something similar. My parents wrote each other every day while my father was in Vietnam. We kids wrote as well. We also shared reel-to-reel tapes. One day we were moving into our new base house when the movers came. They mistook some of our boxes for garbage... included were all the correspondence. My father searched the dump for days- to no avail. I hope to contribute to this site.
Chuck - what a terrible tragedy! I hope the NVHAI can record your memories of your father's service.
