We will e in sugar mountain soon and I cant wait. We always take 4 days in February and its a highlight of the new year for my family! See you there!
Penny, being in Raleigh you also have the opportunity to go north. The conditions are usually a little better there. I grew up cutting class and skiing Sugar, Beech, and Appalachian. Very different conditions from say Snowshoe, Mt Stowe, or say Lake Tahoe. As we use to say if you can ski in NC you can ski anywhere.
great post, penny! NC does have some of the greatest ski resorts around - i am partial to Beech Mountain but they are all wonderful! thanks for putting this list together!
Laura - Have a great time! We've had some colder weather this year which should be good for the slopes.
Larry - You'll be seeing features on Virginia slopes too - they're just too close to Raleigh to resist!
Leesa - I've just heard from several other people who enjoy Beech Mountain! It has the most lifts and the highest altitude, but it's certainly worth checking all these great places out. Now for the snow to arrive...
