Raleigh NC Relocation
Trying to escape the snow up north? North Carolina is basking in the glow of our once-a-year snow storm! Last year we got less than an inch, ditto for the year before.
But today, oh, today my 4 year old gets to sit and watch the flakes come down, and in a tiny bit we'll go out and make actual snow angels!

The snow is supposed to last for the rest of the day, so we should have time to rewarm the hands at least a couple of times. Somehow I doubt we have much in the way of gloves.... oh well, socks on the hands always did the trick when I was a kid and we'd soaked the first couple of pairs of mittens!

We'll enjoy the day at home, because Raleigh does tend to shut down (or at least slow down CONSIDERABLY) when we get our rare snow storms. It's only once a year, after all. SNOW DAY, anyone?

it has not hit here yet like you have it. But when it does it isso pretty. Some of the beauty is that it does not last as long and so does not become tiresome. Nice phots
You did a great job with the pics. Thanks for sharing. Being from Texas I usually don't get to see the white stuff.
We thought we might see a flake or two here but it didn't happen! We get the once a year snowfall, too. It melts by noon for the afternoon tee times! Great pictures.
So pretty! We hardly ever get to enjoy snow here in the Dallas area and when we do it is short lived and people go crazy (can't drive, shut schools down because we don't have good street equipment, etc) Thanks for sharing the beauty!
Love the pictures. I think snow is prettiest when it is viewed in a picture. Unfortunately in Fort Wayne we get lots of real life snow!
Charlie - yes, it's always most beautiful when sitting softly on trees and bushes!
Melody - I know what you mean, I spent a good 5 years in the Pacific Northwest and miss the big storms there.
Bruce - isn't southern living great?
Connie - same here!
Jared - I probably wouldn't like it as much if it was on the ground all the time either, but it sure is pretty!
Thanks for sharing the pictures - come to Florida if you want to skip the snow!
Great pics, Penny! So you guys got snow too. It snowed here for about 2 mins then headed to Charlotte and up your way I guess.
Richard - wouldn't want to skip it for the world....
Tanya - Sorry you didn't get to see more of it! The snow actually stuck around for two whole days this time.
